Last Showcase of the Year

As soon as I came back home, I set up my recording station and opened up Garageband. I had a few songs that I really wanted to record. As always, the cover art for the videos was also created by me using Canva.

When I first heard Hope Morgan, Colin & Caroline's cover of Lord Huron's song, I was in awe of the harmonies. I knew I had to record this, especially since I've become more used to listening to harmonies and replicating them through my time in Grapevine. I had fun recording all three parts, trying to pretend that I was three different people.

This song made me think about how I started seeing things the way they really were as I started to grow older. Some might think it's sad that we lose the 'rose-tinted glasses' when we grow up, but I think it's sometimes good to see things from a different perspective.

I didn't know this song was about COVID-19, but while I was recording it, the lyrics made me think that Sarah Reeves was talking about the hardships of navigating through COVID times. Unsurprisingly, this song came out in 2021. Now that we're fortunately out of the woods, it really showed that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

That's all for now! I hope these songs guide you into the new year :)
